AVOCENT KVM SOLUTIONS

As the IT infrastructure expands, servers and support staff are not

always in the same location. Often they need the ability to access

servers securely from anywhere. In addition support staff may

need to manage other data centre devices such as network

switches, routers and firewalls. They may also need to manage

server and device power remotely. Often support staff need to

simultaneously collaborate on the same IT problem from multiple

geographical locations.

The Avocent DS Series has been developed to manage

multi-location enterprise-level data centres. The DS Series

enables you to access all of your servers and network devices

to BIOS level from anywhere over an IPconnection. The DS

Series leverages the existing network infrastructure including

cabling, switches and routers, and hence can be

easily expanded to support extra users and devices.

DSView

management software is the user interface

for the DS Series, which enables you to access and

control all your servers and data centre devices from

a single screen. DSWebview provides secure web

based access to any data centre device via the DS Series.

DS Admin enables detailed KVM system administration including

topology configuration, user permissions and authentication.

The DS Series includes the DS1800 and the DSR

range of

KVM switches which enable you to access your servers and

serial devices over IP. The Avocent CPS provides advanced

access over IP to serial devices including Ethernet switches,

routers, PABXs and firewalls. The Avocent SPC power control

device lets you individually power recycle servers in the rack and

the EVR environmental monitor and

control appliance remotely

Branch offices.The DSR1021 KVM

switch is designed for branch office

administration. It enables IT administrators

to remotely troubleshoot, reboot or even

power cycle servers or serial devices

in branch offices, avoiding

the need for costly

on-site service calls.
